I went to the city of Ajmer a couple of years ago and was quite delighted to see that the city was really quite beautiful. My childhood holidays were spent at the beaches of my hometown and I found the dessert like sand very much like the sand found on beaches. I had visited the famous Puskar Fair at that time and I thought....what a beautiful lake the pushkar lake was. With exotic birds and a cool breeze blowing across it on a hot day, It was really quite refreshing.
Now I have been horribly
surprised by what has happened to the Pushkar lake. The lake has gone dry not because of natural reasons but due to a beautification project conducted by the urban development department. Now the visitors and tourists visiting during the fair would be in for quite a bad surprise this year. It is a really sad result of how thing could go really wrong, when man interferes with nature..... I hope it rains soon in the dessert so that the lake fills up.
